Biography of Hooman Darabi

Hooman Darabi received B.S. and M.S. degrees, both in electrical engineering, from Sharif University of Technology, in 1994 and 1996 respectively. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999. His Ph.D. advisor at UCLA was Professor Asad Abidi. Dr. Darabi is a well-known expert in the field of analog and RF IC design for wireless communications. He is a Fellow of IEEE since 2014, and a Broadcom Fellow and has authored/co-authored a number of books. Currently, he is a Senior Technical Director at Broadcom Inc. and an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the Electrical Engineering department of the University of California, Los Angeles as well as the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department of the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Darabi’s main interests include analog and RF IC design for wireless communications. He also served as an IEEE distinguished lecturer from 2012 to 2014.
